The regional final roster ranged in ages from 05's to 03's and did not disappoint

FC Wichita Academy sent a wide range of players to represent the club at the USL Super Y League regional round last weekend in Dallas, TX. Player age ranged from 14 yrs old to 16 yrs old, and represented 4 different rosters from within the club.

"This was a great opportunity to show that philosophy in coaching throughout the club prepares players to not only accept team promotion, but allows them a systematic understanding when they get called upon," said FC Wichita CEO Blake Shumaker. "A handful of the 16 yr old (03's) players have already trained or capped with the men's first team, and now we're able to begin bringing up 14 or 15 yr old players to groom them for promotion as well. We showed faith in these players and they rewarded their club with attractive futbol."

The word "attractive" seems like an understatement by Shumaker. The team blasted through the regional round controlling the possession in every match, while filling the opponents net with 18 goals and only allowing 1 goal against. 10 different players scored goals for FC Wichita. Ivan Quezada (5 goals) and Carlos Vidrio (3 goals) showed the way in points.
